AYE AYE,
OOH'R ME HARTEYS....

Here is a Pirate tag and birthday card I
made a little while ago.
I love that Edwin stamp!
I've used real road maps as background papers.

Using sandpaper to roughen up the edges.

and a going over with
Distress ink pad
Vintage photo & old paper.

I painted Edwin with distress ink refils.

The card is 13.5x13.5cm
& the tag has an 8" base.

Vintage Design Team Challenge # 44

We have an ANYTHING GOES challenge
going on at
(Of course in Vintage/shabby style.)
and since its summer we also have an extended deadline,
you have until the
28th of July 6pm

No excuses for not joining in then!
We have a new sponser this time as well,

Here is my designteam contribution:

I'll start at Edwins feet...
To give the card a real ship deck feeling
glued on some coffee stiring sticks,
 that were rather
unusually made of bambu.
First I distressed them with Tims Distress Inks,
then cut them to size with a strudy pair of sissors
The treasure map you can  just see here on the left
(or should I say port or starboard ;)
I made myself.

A vintage book page, again distressed.
I used Distress Reinkers to paint,
and bought the design paper from Panduro.

I borrowed my boys pirateship for the photoshot :O)

And the insides are decorated too for once!

After these photos were taken I sold the card,
and the buyer was planning on framing it in for her son,
So I added his name on the front in a rough banner type style.

I hope my project has given some inspiration!
Thinking that you don't always have to use things for the
purpose they were made for!
ie. the hot drink sticks!
Look forward to seeing lots of
Anything Goes Vintage projects!

Good summer
Nina

Our challenge at Vintage Challenges this time
is to make a shabby/vintage style card or project for a child.
You have until 6pm on the 28th of May
to link up your projects.

I have made two cards,
the first one I really did like making,
The Mo Mannings Digital stamp
was a joy to paint!

I made the background paper with
Tim Holtz Distress card stock,

and sand paper before I
roughed up the edges with a pair of sissors.

The Text stamp on the tag is from Stempel glede,
And the letter stickers are from Prima.

This is the backside of the tag,
I don't know who made this stamp,
It was given to me by my friend
(her blog is really worth a visit if you havn't been by the way!)

Mo Mannings digital stamp.
