Statsraad lehmkuhl - Tall ship card

This Easter my dad turned 70!
He has a deep love for all things that float on the ocean,
fishing boats, dingys, tall ships, did I say boats? The sea etc etc.
So my brothers and I decided to give him and organise a great
surprise for his big
seven 0.

We booked him on to a working holiday on the tall ship the

He will be sailing to from Bergen to Ullapool.
This year the Tall ship celebrates 100 yrs of age,
it just happend to be docked in Bergen when we were over there for Easter.
I captured some photos of it.....

(above photo borrowed from the program.)

A beautiful norwegian tall ship,
that i also have had the pleasure of sailing from
Bergen to Orkney,
The Shetland Isles and back to Bergen.
The trip of a lifetime!

Well, we needed a card to enlighten him of his trip this summer....

So, I made this envelope card:

Dad was needless to say blown away,
over the moon,
and is getting his sea legs ready for the trip!

Have a nice weekend.

Vintage Design team challenge # 53: Sketch

Wow 2012 came and went quickly!
It was a very good and creative year for me,
with far too little time devoted to blogging and
visiting my blog-friends out there!
I plan to change that in 2013.

I will be posting photos of the projects that I didn't get time
to post in 2012 soon,
Everything from more furniture renovating, canvas painting to cards
but first I want to tell you
about the newest challenge over at
Andrea has made a great sketch to follow.
and the team have made some beautiful inspriational cards.

I cut out the die hearts from a scrap of aquarell paper
with test paint colours from another project and applyed
a thick layer of glaze.

Sketch to follow:

Here is my take on Andreas Sketch:

Here you can see a close-up of my new fabric tape,
I'm loving it!

I really enjoyed working with this sketch,
all the layers makes it easy to give a lovley vintage feel.

 Card nr 1

 Card nr 2.

I have used design papers from Macaulay Arts,
MME, Minne Hjørne and Maja Design
I have given all of of the papers edges a 'going over'
with Distress Ink 'Old Paper', 'Vintage photo'
and a rub with a sissor edge.
I used Tim Holtz paints and Dyans spray to distress the
old peice of corrigated cardboard.

Play with the sketch as we in the design team have done,
You can rotate it as you will,
but the sketch must be recognizable and
as always here at Vintage challenges,
vintage style
This time also you get extra time
to deliver their submissions,
In fact, until
d 28th of Jan. 2013 at 10pm.

I look forward to visiting your blogs
to see what you've all been up to,
and gathering my 'left-out' projects from 2012 to show you.
Have fun! Hugs Nina

My cards published in Ett Trykk mag.

Earlier this year I was very happy to see two of my
cards published in 'Ett Trykk'  magazine
('One Stamp' in English)
Here are the cards.....

This is the card tyed shut with a peice of vintage seam binding,
The wooden birdcage from Kaiser is glued just on one side.

 Here is the card open.
I hadn't made a card with this fold before and
I'm quite pleased the way it turned out.

Here is card nr 2,
A really simple card,
but it is close to my heart all the same.

Hope Autumn is treating you all kindly!
Mines been a BUSY one so far!
