Handmade book

Another project I made in 2012.
A book I made using lots of Tilda -panduro papers  inside,
and Macaulay Arts design paper on the front cover.
Distress inks and roughed edges......

Above; a peek inside the book,

Above; with some plain bazzil pages  inbetween the design papers
I clipped out and glued in some co-ordinating borders.

 Above; the back side.

Above; for the front plate I used a die cut from Heidi Swapp,
I just distressed it with ink and the pattern shone through.

Above; you can see the leftover threads,
hidden under the book spine.
I used my sewing machine to bind the pages.

Six of my first Art Journal Pages

Finaly here come the first pages of my Art Journal!
(you can see the cover of the book made with Metal tape here )

I feel so lucky to have been able to join a group of friends
for a class that Screppa
held at the Ski treff in March.
I was introduced to
Art Journaling
and am now well and truly hooked!
I have since made another Art Journal that I have started work on,
it is a much smaller handy size. I will showing that soon too.

Christmas in vintage style

Firstly welcome to my new followers, always nice to see new faces.
I can't belive how many of you there are now!
*
I was chosen to take part in the Stamp challenge
along with 3 other ladys for this years 5th Edition of Ett Trykk,
a Scandinavian inspirational magazine for cardmakers and scrappers.
I was well chuffed, and enjoyed the challenge!
We were each sent a beautiful photostamp from
'Kreativ Hobby'
and was asked to make 2 projects showcasing it.
I chose to make a CD gift envelope (using my own design) and a notepad.

Here is a detail photo of the notepad below.

I have used my Zutter Bind-it-all to make the spine,
and the text stamp is from Waltzing Mouse.

Here is the CD gift envelope,
I have used amongst others papers designed for me by my husband.

This is the backside.

and a side view.

I had so much fun making these projects!
Thank you Ett Trykk for choosing me to take part.

I am entering these works in for the following challenges:

Anonyme Scrappere - Christmas in vintage style.
(deadline - 22nd Nov.)

(deadline - 3rd Dec.)

(deadline - 30th Nov.)

Addicted to stamps challenge - Shabby chic or vintage
(deadline - 12 Nov)

Thank you for all of your comments, I appreciate you taking the time!
Enjoy Autumn before its gone for a whole year!
Regards Nina

Art Journal

I was so inspired at the Scrap weekend I attended recently by all the tallented artists around me, many of them were making projects with the tecnique I have used here to cover my Art Journal with.
I just had to try it out too!!
This is my second project using this tecnique and not the last i'm sure :O)
Here is the result.

Here is how the project began, I found a book at the local thrift shop,
this one is all about good wine
(so i'll be sure to read up on some of the chapters
before I gesso them and get down and arty! hehe)

Lucky I checked before I started applying the metal tape,
cos the book was not only back to front but it was upside down too!!
I had to carefully lift off the letters etc that I had already glued into place!

I found two challenges that suit this project:

Charisma Card Challenge # 42 - Embossing (dry or wet)

Anything goes challenge blog  # 52 - To the letter!

Happy scrapping
Nina xx
