A short while ago I was lucky enough to join a short painting evening
with the artist Mette Monk,
together with 3 lovley artistic friends of mine.
The course was held at Mette Monks home,
such an inspirational place, her paintings and art work
everywhere, with beautiful open landscape views.
We chose acrylic paint for our medium as it drys fast.
We were all inspired by the beautiful birdhouses
of all shapes and sizes
she has in every nook and cranny and her works with them.
Here are the 3 bird houses I have painted
and attached to my canvas (size 20x60cm)
There are lots of layers of paint here Starting off with light blue
to suit the clippings of wall paper I glued on.
I have used a pallet knive to get my desired rough effect.
I should mention this is a mixed media project :O)
The text is stamped in acryllic paint using foam stamps.
Here is the finished picture.
What a wonderful course it was,
it really got my creative juices flowing.
Thank you so much Mette Munk,
I'm sure you have not seen the last of us!
