Easter eggs

Almost Easter folks! 

Thought I would share a quick fix I have done

with some cheap Easter eggs I bought....

Given some fresh looking eggs a little vintage look...

The egg on the left is before the one on 

the right has had a good rubbing in with 

my trusty furniture polish!

And thats it, quick fix! 

The pattern on the eggs is really sweet but didn't really show.

(and now they smell all waxy too ;O)

Before...

Thought I would let you guys know what I am up to :O)

Its not a paper project this time, (although I do have a few cards finished and almost ready to post).

I am giving our breakfast table and 4 chairs a make over.....

Here is a photo of the before,

Its not easy to see from the photo

But the paint is a very light 'duck egg blue'

I painted them a couple of years ago,

they were an orangey pine colour when I got them (bleh)

I inherited this table and four chairs from my mum about 7 years ago,

who bought them in an auction about 40 years ago.

When she worked at 'The Norwegian Trade Center' in London.

These were the tables and chairs they had in their canteen

at the time

when they decided to refit the interior.

They have lasted so well and the chairs

are the kind that you can sit comfortably in

for ......a long time :O)

2010 has just flewn by and I have decided to really try and make 2011 go by a bit slower!

As I mentioned in a recent post I have taken

some photos around my house

(that is full of love :O)

I love taking photographs

It had been a while since the last time I took time-out to take some,

and since I have a great interest for interiørs and 'nik naks', it's usually that subject I use :O)

Anyway here are some photographs of some items close to my

heart for various reasons....

Baby bunting.

Just thought I would show you one of my other non- paper projects I have had going on.

This is a baby bunting (a row of small flags to hang on a nursery wall) for a girl.

I got 2 orders both for girls, so to save time I made them identical.

The lovley fabric and ribbon are both bought from Panduro ( a local hobby shop) and they are from the Tilda collection. They are 3 meters in length.
I think they are rather scrummy :O9

Dreaming again! hehe

I've just finished drooling over at Graham and Green!! just look at these gorjuss items, well worth a visit to their webpage....
Now I have to clear a space on my over full desk, and I might just have enough time to be creative too :O9 heres hoping he he.

Another useful recyled item...and my Japanese doll.

I have been busy this time with something that is not made of paper! I saw the idea ages ago, and thought i must give that a go!
The other day I went to my local secondhand shop, and came accross these lovley sausers and plate by wedgewood. Unfortunatly they were missing the cup. I found some small glasses that suited in size between the plates.
I made sure that everything was squeeky clean and dry. Then glued it all together with superglue :O) My very own cake stand that is unique and only cost a couple of pounds to make :O)) (not one for the dishwasher). The muffin shaped pot is just placed on the top, it dosen't usually sit there but it did for the photo :O) I bought that at Søsterene Grene.
I should mention that since it is a small 'cake stand' it is actually better for serving sweeties and chocolates on.. mmm :OD

I also took a picture of another little project I am working on at the moment, I have a small but growing collection of small wooden Japanese dolls. So when I saw this little unpainted wooden doll at Panduro, I decided to try and make my own :O)
It is not finished yet as you see she has no face yet, and I plan to paint some small flowers on her jacket . I have glued some wooden beads to her head to look like hair buns, and have painted her with a mix of matt and shiney hobby paints.

Re-cycle and store.

I thought I would share what I store my pens, glue and brushes etc in... here are my favourites:

I save and wash the food cans with soap and water first, and make sure they are really clean.

Then I use paper scraps, ribbons etc to decorate them. They are so useful, come in all sorts of sizes and are FREE!

I have a whole load of them in use and they really brighted up the shelf above my desk.
