I really enjoyed making this card!

Nothing more relaxing and 

therapeutic than playing with.....

paints and inks, 

no plan,

winging it,

 seeing what happens,

without a care in the world..... 

 splat a little

stamp a little,

washi-tape a little,

rub-on a little,

doodle a bit,

finished,

AHHHHHH

 Thats roughly how this card came to life.... ;O)

Of course I was going to buy that wonderful quote stamp

when I found it!

 I have used it on a canvas before and now here it is again on a card I have made,

and i'm sure its not the last time it will pop up on something i make!

I have taken some step photos 

of my card, just to run you through some of the 

process of card making.

Mainly layering.

I left out all of the work on distressing the papers etc

I'll do that another time.

Its been a long dark winter up here in Norway,

and whilst making this card I was hit by a longing for summer,

I think it has a lovley summery feel,

mostly down to that gorgeous design 

paper from 'Authentique'!

I had chosen to add my paint in the way of paint splatters,

in white and a mixed bluey green.

But decided it needed more so I dipped my finger

in a blob of quite dry white Acrylic paint, 

and ran it along the edges here and there.

as you might be able to see on the photo of the finished card again...

A Tag shabby.

February has arrived already!

GO 2014! :O))

 

This tag, like the tag I posted about yesterday, 

started off with the background made a while ago whilst 

testing out different mediums and background techniques.

 This delicate aqua tag is pretty clean and simple.

(Yes I know I hear you thinking 

  'Clean? Does she call that clean..?!?'

Well by my standards its clean ok?!)

Gesso dry brushed onto a black Ranger #8 tag.

A swatch of aqua heavy body acrylic paint.

Background stamps from Bo Bunny,

text stamp from Kaiser craft.

Ribbon from Memory keepers,

paper scraps, staples.......

and Bobs your uncle 

tag FINITO!

Oh and I did a bit of droodling around some

of the words to highlight them a bit :O)

Gallery Exhibition - Ås Togstasjon - Norway.

This time i'm posting about an Exhibition 

myself and 2 girlfriends are 

holding at the moment at the 

trainstation cafe in Ås, Norway.

It's an exhibition of acrylics/mixed media 

on canvas and Photography.

We held the vernisasje on Sunday (the 1st of September).

It was so nice to see lots of familiar friendly faces 

who had taken the trip to come join us and have a look.

Some paintings and photos were sold too, an extra bonus.

 So if you are in the area, do drop in.

The Cafe has a charming atmosphere, 

with tasty food and good coffee!

There is also a darling shop on the second floor 

thats worth a visit.

Art Journal page - Time

Time to show the next page in my Art Journal.

I had fun making this one,

as I do with all of my pages actually,

but i did enjoy playing around with this one.

I have had some lovley star tissue paper I 

got from panduro ages ago, just lying around 

shouting out to be used.

So I made a wrinkled background with it.

Mixed media lerret 15x15cm. 'Love'.

I just had to make a smaller size canvas to go with 

the bigger one in my last post.

I think they would look nice together on a wall.

This one is size 15 x 15cm. 

As you can see i have built this one up a bit more using letters, 

hearts and a swirly paper edge, 

still sticking to that lovley

'marshmallow and chai latte, mellow' 

paint palet.

Mixed Media Lerret 30x30cm 'Things I want to do with you'.

I love the colours on this canvas I painted, 

I was mixing and adding dabs of this and that 

and the result in my eyes is so mellow! 

Theres something saying 'marshmallows and Chai Latte' to me here!

Dose anybody else see that?!

Those lovley bright splashes of dark turquoise

are actually fabric paints from Panduro.

The 'Things I want to do with you' text is 

 a serviette that I decoupaged on top using matt glue.

I used hobby paint with white crackle paint over it

 on some watercolour paper 

before cutting out the hearts from it,

they are a bit shiney and therfore give another texture

which is hard to see in this photo. 

 I used touches of gold paint and stamped with 
Vibeke Spigseths rubber stamps in random places,

and circles created with modeling paste.

The lerret is size 30 x 30cm

Mixed media Lerret 30 x 30 cm. 'Life is just another journey'.

I guess it must have been Easter that has inspired me to use 

this bright and happy yellow colour on this canvas.

Not to everyones taste i'm sure,

it was a bit 'out of the box' for me too,

but i am pleased with the result.

This time I used an old road map that I ripped up and glued on before 

I started painting with my acrylics,
and adding random stamped writing from 
Vibeke Spigseths collection. 

With the map, travel and journeys 

in mind the theme of the canvas came about.

And my dreams of travelling continue...

Mixed Media Lerret 15 x 15 cm. 'Houses in a row'

I've painted a smaller canvas here 15x15cm 

using the same tecnique of gluing on old book 

pages before painting with acrylic paint,

giving an interesting texture to the background 

sometimes you can see some of the text or music notes 

where I have scraped away the paint before it drys.

I'm all about texture, I love it! 

The numbers stand slightly proud of the canvas.

I made them using a stencil from 

Dylusions and modeling paste. 

The hot air balloon i cut from Vibeke Spigseths 

new collection of design papers.

The houses are plywood embelishments that i painted with 

acrylic paint, and glues on.

2nd canvas painted at Skitreff.

Here is the second canvas (30x30cm) 
that I painted last weekend, 

at the scrap-meet I attended in Ski.

First a close-up of some words 

stenciled on using modeling paste

to give some depth and texture...

I have used stamps from 

Vibeke spigseth and Prima.

The blue and yellow splatters are actually 

fabric paint from Panduro, 

they are great cos once they are dry they ain't going no-where

so aslong as they only hit the canvas everythings fine hihi.

Canvas painting with Vibeke Spigseth -Skitreff

Last weekend I enjoyed another Skitreff. 

(Weekend scrap-gathering in Ski)

So many creative and lovley people under one roof for a 

whole weekend, dosen't get any better!

This time I enroled in a canvas background

painting course held by 

Vibeke Spigseth

I loved it! 

Vibeke is so inspiring and creative,

she makes the most gorgeous projects and designs,

and is so sweet too.

I really got smitten and have found it hard to put my paintbrush down since!

(i'm not joking I'm on canvas nr 6 now and counting! I'll post them later.)

Blue-hug tag

 This time I have made a tag that l have named blue-hug tag,

made to chase those blues away.

It can also be used as a bookmark because I kept it flat.

I am looking forward to sending this tag to a special someone 

who needs a good hug,

you'll know who you are when you get it!

The message on the tag from North star stamps 

says; 

'sending you hugs and cosy-ness'

I made this for this months challenge

over at Trykk Pressa.

I first painted a kraft tag with crackle paint

colour 'weathered wood'( I just slapped it on leaving 

some of the kraft paper to show through).

Then made the smaller tag using a Magnolia 

heart stamp that I coloured using distress pens and 

a white gel pen for the dots.

I applyed rub-ons and washi tape to the tag

before distressing the edges and ageing it all over

with  distress ink -Vintage photo and walnut stain.

Lastly I coloured some vintage seam binding with 

distress ink refil - weathered wood,

and attached it to the tag.

Art Journal 2. What if your fears...

Here is a finished page in my second and smaller Art Journal.

I have been building up the background for ages,

by stamping my stamps clean on

a gesso prepaired page, before I decided it was ready 

to actually work onI love how the text in the book 

is still visable in some places, and the random stamps.

The sweet house stamps I have painted 

using distress inks are borrowed from Mettepip, 

and are by Dyan.

I am entering this into:

Papirdokkene - Maling/mist. (25/3)
