More decorated tags...

As some of you may already know,
i'm a tag bit crazy!!
I love Tags!! and working with their size and dimentions.

They are a great way to use up paper and ribbon scraps.
I never throw either away, and therfore I need to make alot of tags
so I don't drown in all of my scraps.

My favorite tags are Ranger 'Craft Tags'
They are heavy weight and can take alot of beatings with
paint, ink and all sorts of art mediums without being ruined.
(this is not a sponsered post, just want to share the quality
I find in these tags!).

I've been quite 'nice' to these tags,
I didn't put them through any distress ;O)
just a randomly stamped background this time.

Unlike my tags in this post
'christmas Tag - tutorial'

These tags and other tags and cards are for sale,
and can found at
 Gunilla
or you can contact me direct via
ninamac76@yahoo.no

Most of my cards and tags are one of a kind,
so if its sold its gone.
I also make special orders.

Have a nice day :)

Art Journal Nr 4

I said I was going to post about this Art journal
ages ago, well here it is.
I made my new Art Journal out of a old childrens
book I picked up at a
secondhand shop a while back.
As I tend to take my journals around with me on holiday etc
I opted to decortate the cover flat
ie nothing sticking out that could get
ripped of when taking it in and out of my bag.
I used different washi tapes in strips
all over the from and back cover.
I had decided to use clear rock candy on the title part,
to give it a glazed slightly crackled effect
over where I stamped ...

.....'ART JOURNAL'
So I stamped and painted on the rock candy
and whilst it was drying the ink from the stamp started bleeding!
Only slightly at first and then more and more!
So I quickly scraped off the rock candy before it was completly dry and hard,
and just restamped the words.
As you can see some of the rock candy had
dryed around the edges,
which I think gives a cool effect as
a kind of shabby frame.
I rubbed distress ink into the cracks to make them more visible.

The last thing I did was to paint over the washi tape
with thinned down gesso to 'dampen' the colours of the wasi tape,
giving it an overall more uniform and shabby look.

I love the tall shape of this journal.
It measures 13x23cm.
I'll post some of the first pages soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Italian Job.

I have a customer in Italy who was looking for a box
that would hold a new house key that she planned
to give to her boyfreind when they moved house together.
She had a special poem that she wanted to be included in Italian
It was tres importante that the box be big enough
to hold the key and keyring that measured 3x3cm.
I ended up choosing to transform a wooden box......

Here is the chosen wooden box.

The tough wee magnets hold the lids tightly shut.

The design papers are from Bo Bunny.

I dyed the vintage seam binding myself
with a mix of Tim's distress inks,
and painted then sanded the trinket key, so it wasn't so shiny.
I used several small bits of different washi tapes
under the bow to give it a bit more of a busy look.

I used sandpaper to distress around all the edges before
distressing some more with gesso paint over the blue acrylic paint,
To give it a proper used and treasured look.
I Printed the poem out after working with it in Adobe illustrator.
After altering it to the correct size to fit the box I
chose a suitable font and colour.

How romantic!!

I do hope that he likes it,
and that they live together happily ever after...

Customers reply: I received your package today,
I REALLY have no words, it's simply perfect!!
So beautiful and so plain, I love it!

Truly, You are an artist =D

Wow I am thrilled that she liked it so much,
that makes it so much worthwhile!!

i took off my paint tube.

Its been a while since I entered any Challenges
so I decided to enter this for
Their theme for January is Time and want to see clocks
on your project, I think this suits the bill
like a glove.

Panduro Hobby Christmas card Competition.

Right now Panduro Hobby is having a competition!
You have to design and make your own Christmas card.
(yup its looming, in fact only 2 months til Christmas now!
Can't wait personally, I LOVE CHRISTMAS!)

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to enter, and the prizes are FAB.
Here is my entry:
(I decided to make a tag,
but with a card like place to write on the back,
I do hope that they accept it as a card....)

The back side, showing the 'flip-up card' bit, a text stamp
from Panduro and my personal stamp.

On the side I used a Panduro Foam stamp,
its cool 'cos you can only see the silver ink from some angles.
I stamped straight onto the background I made
using the new and Beautiful 'Tilda' Tissue paper
glued on using Panduro's own Decoupage glue.

Here you see a selection of Panduros Washi Tape, LOVE IT!
A vintage button sewed on with hemp string, and
a scrap of of lace ribbon attached to the very bottom.

In this photo i have tryed to capture the
shine of the panduro stamp,
embossed black Christmas tree.

Here you see the gorgeous new 'Tilda' ribbon
attached to the top of the card.

I really enjoyed making this
and it didn't take a whole lot of time either.

I had better skip along to Panduro with it one day soon.
(competition closing date is 11 Nov 2012)

Happy days!
Thanks for stopping by.
